The Puertas Quartet are returning to New Zealand for their third tour of the country and are very excited to be releasing their new album, a disc of Ravel, Tchaikovsky & Rachmaninov.
The quartet, comprising the much loved NZSO principal viola and cello, Julia and Andrew Joyce and London based, Tom Norris and Ellie Fagg of the LSO and Livingroom in London, recorded their 2nd album at Potton Hall in early 2013 during a series of UK engagements. Following on from the success of their first album, “Of Wine and Roses..” Compositions by Keith Stratham, which spent several weeks as number one on the New Zealand Classical Charts, Atoll Records will be releasing “Ravel Tchaikovsky Rachmaninov” as the label’s first release of 2014. The quartet will present a series of concerts featuring Wolf’s Italian Serenade, Mendelssohn A minor & Beethoven’s Rasumovsky No.1 from Auckland to Christchurch between the 7th and the 21st of January with four of these concerts open to the public.
